PHARMACOTHERAPEUTIC CATEGORY
Topical antihistamines.

ACTIVE PRINCIPLES
100 g of cream contain: promethazine hydrochloride 2.26 g equal to promethazine 2.0 g.

EXCIPIENTS
White petroleum jelly, cetostearyl alcohol, ethoxylated cetostearyl alcohol, hydrogenated fatty acids, sodium lauryl sulfate, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, ethyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, phenoxyethanol, propylene glycol, dimethicone, sodium dehydroacetate, isopropyl myristate, BTA-20TA, bronopolyte, EDEG-20 BHT, hexylene glycol, citric acid monohydrate, glyceryl oleate, ascorbyl palmitate, fragrance, purified water.

INDICATIONS
Local symptomatic treatment for insect bites and other localized skin irritations such as redness, burning, itching and sunburn.

CONTRAINDICATIONS / SECONDARY EFFECT
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the listed excipients, or to other related substances from a chemical point of view; eczema; secreting lesions. Contraindicated in children younger 'less than 2 years.

DOSAGE
Apply the cream 2-3 times a day on the affected area. Avoid application on very large areas, greater than 10% of the body surface. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

STORAGE
Store in a tightly closed container, protected from light.

WARNINGS
Prolonged and incongruous use of the drug can give rise to allergic sensitization phenomena with consequent worsening of symptoms. If this occurs, the treatment must be suspended and the doctor consulted in order to establish a suitable therapy. Since the application of Lenil antipruritus can delay the healing process, the medicine should not be used more than 3 - 4 consecutive days on lesions in which this phenomenon is taking place. In the case of sunburn, apply the medicine and avoid further sun exposure of the irritated skin. If skin rash, irritation and burning phenomena occur, the treatment must be suspended. Contains bronopol and cetostearyl alcohol: they can cause local skin reactions (eg contact dermatitis); BHA and BHT: can cause local skin reactions (eg contact dermatitis) or irritation of the eyes or other mucous membranes; parahydroxybenzoates: can cause allergic reactions (even delayed); propylene glycol: can cause skin irritation.

INTERACTIONS
There are no known interactions with other drugs for cutaneous use.

SIDE EFFECTS
It can cause allergic reactions. The use of promethazine has been associated with photosensitivity reactions. Abundant application of the medicine on very large areas of the skin can cause drowsiness. Report any suspected adverse reactions via the national reporting system.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING
In pregnant women, the medicine should be used only in case of actual need and under medical supervision.
