Gastropiù Sachets
Food supplement with patented formula.
The ingredients can be useful for those who, for various reasons, need help to maintain the correct balance of homeostasis of the gastric and esophageal mucosa.
The association of the ingredients is patented as thanks to this formulation the formation of the alginate polymer and the hyaluronic acid gel takes place simultaneously, thus allowing the rapid incorporation of the alginate polymer inside the hyaluronic acid gel even before the polymer of alginate precipitates within the acidic contents of the stomach.

Information on ingredients derived from international literature
Hyaluronic acid : hyaluronic acid is one of the fundamental components of the connective tissue of man and mammals. Its concentration in the tissues of the body tends to decrease with advancing age. Chemically it can be defined as a non-sulphured glycosaminoglycan without a protein core, from the unbranched polysaccharide chain produced by the condensation of thousands of disaccharide units formed in turn by residues of hyaluronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine linked together, alternatively, by glycosidic bonds 131 -> 4 and 31 -> 3, as well as by intramolecular hydrogen bonds, which stabilize its conformations. At physiological pH the carboxylic groups of the glucuronic units are ionized, giving the hyaluronate high polarity, and consequently a high solubility in water. Thanks to this property, hyaluronate is able to complex with many water molecules reaching a high degree of hydration, forming a gel. Hyaluronic acid also plays an important role in tissue repair and protection.
Under normal conditions, proteoglycans in the ground substance of the connective tissue mucosa represent an effective barrier against bacterial invasion and spread. If this barrier is damaged, the topical application of molecular weight hyaluronic acid, thanks to its macro-aggregating effect on proteoglycans, can favor its reconstruction. The macro-aggregating effect of hyaluronic acid on proteoglycans inhibits the formation of edema. During the initial phase of inflammation, hyaluronic acid is secreted by the body as a natural response of the tissue against the damaging action of bacterial hyaluronidases and the formation of edema. Hyaluronic acid has therefore been used as an anti-inflammatory, anedemigenic and protective agent of the gastric and laryngoesophageal mucosa (1).
Sodium alginate : Alginates are neutral polysaccharide polymers isolated from brown algae (Phacophycae) and are classified as dietary fiber. They consist of a percentage of D-mannan L-glucuronic acids. In the presence of stomach acid, alginates precipitate to form a gel, which tends to form a floating barrier at the mouth of the stomach (2). Clinical studies have shown that the pH of the alginate barrier is neutral, while the gastric pH below the barrier is decidedly acidic (2). These studies show that with the presence of alginates an effective barrier is formed against gastric acidity; also show that there is a rapid reduction of symptoms related to esophageal reflux (3, 4). Recent studies have confirmed the efficacy of alginates in reducing symptoms related to esophageal reflux (5).
