DISBIOSI
According to what is currently reported in the literature, intestinal dysbiosis can be defined as a set of gastro-enteric symptoms and functional disorders that can evolve, involving organs and systems distant from the colon.

From the point of view of Functional Medicine it is possible to classify dysbiosis in:
• Fermentative dysbiosis, mainly affects the stomach and small intestine and is caused by a diet that is too rich in carbohydrates. The main symptoms are: indigestion, abdominal bloating, bloating and flatulence;
• Putrefactive dysbiosis, mainly affects the colon and is caused by a diet that is too rich in proteins. The main symptom is constipation.

There are also various levels of severity of Dysbiosis:
• Mild dysbiosis, is caused by an alteration of the delicate intestinal balance. Symptoms can be constipation, bloating, irritable bowel disorder;
• Medium-severe dysbiosis, there is an increase in the permeability of the mucosa. It is caused by the use of antibiotics, chemotherapy and laxatives;
• Severe dysbiosis, changes in liver, pancreatic and biliary tract function begin to appear.

Fructooligosaccharides are non-digestible carbohydrates.
The fructooligosaccharides present in Markofruct have the following characteristics:
- they are indigestible.
- they are specific nourishment for "good bacteria".
- they act as prebiotics, promoting the balance of the intestinal flora and influencing the immune defenses.
Chamomile is traditionally known for its antispasmodic, digestive, calming, carminative, tonic, eupeptic and emmenagogue properties.

It is useful for calming stomach and intestinal spasms and thanks to its relaxing properties it has a beneficial action on the smooth muscles of the digestive system.
It is also used in case of indigestion, stomach upset, bloating, menstrual pain, headache, nervousness, anxiety.

Prebiotics are often used in the treatment of dysbiosis.

Prebiotics are indigestible but still useful substances as they act as nourishment for useful bacteria. Once they arrive in the large intestine, they are transformed by bacteria into short-chain fatty acids, which cause a lowering of the intestinal pH by reducing the growth of pathogenic bacteria. Prebiotics are also able to stimulate the growth of bifidobacteria and the production of butyrate, an energetic substance for the cells of the colon.
