Powder for oral solution with Paracetamol, Guaifenesin and Phenylephrine Hydrochloride.

Therapeutic indications

Bronchenolo Cough, Flu and Cold contains:

  • acetaminophen which is a pain reliever (analgesic) and helps to lower the temperature when you have a fever
  • guaifenesin which is an expectorant that helps loosen mucus
  • phenylephrine which is a decongestant for reducing swelling of the nasal passages to help you breathe more easily.

These sachets are used for the short-term relief of cold and flu symptoms including pain, headache, stuffy nose and sore throat, chills and fever, and for the relief of bronchial cough.

Talk to your doctor if you don't feel better or if you feel worse after 5 days.

Dosage and Posology

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Pour the contents of one sachet into a standard cup. Fill the cup to below the level with approximately 250 ml (8 fl.oz) of hot but not boiling water. Stir until the product has dissolved and let the water cool until it reaches a temperature that allows its consumption. Drink all of the solution within 1 hour and a half.

The recommended dose is:

  • Adults, the elderly and children aged 12 years and over.

One sachet every four hours as needed. Do not use more than 4 sachets (4 doses) in any 24 hour period. Do not administer to children under the age of 12.

Overdose

Contains paracetamol. Seek immediate medical help in the event of an overdose even if you feel well, due to the risk of delayed severe liver damage. Go to the emergency room of the nearest hospital. Take your medicine and this leaflet with you. Do not exceed the specified dose. If symptoms persist for more than 5 days or worsen, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

Contraindications

Do not take Bronchenolo Cough, Flu and Cold if:

  • you are allergic to paracetamol, guaifenesin, phenylephrine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • you are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • have liver or kidney problems, including alcoholic liver disease
  • have a serious heart condition or cardiovascular disorder or blood problems such as anemia (low red blood cell count)
  • have high blood pressure (hypertension)
  • have an overactive thyroid
  • have diabetes
  • suffer from pheochromocytoma
  • suffer from glaucoma, including narrow angle glaucoma
  • have difficulty passing urine
  • are taking antidepressant medicines called monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or have taken them in the last 14 days - these are medicines such as phenelzine and isocarboxazide
  • are taking tricyclic antidepressants
  • you are taking beta-blocker drugs
  • you are taking other products containing paracetamol
  • are taking other decongestant or stimulant medications (e.g. ephedrine, amphetamines and xylometazoline)
  • are taking cough medicines called cough suppressants.

Side effects

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

breastfeeding.

  • Paracetamol: Epidemiological data on oral administration of therapeutic doses of paracetamol indicate no adverse effects on pregnancy or on the health of the fetus or newborn. Reproduction studies involving oral administration did not indicate any signs of malformation or fetal toxicity. Paracetamol is excreted in breast milk but not in significant quantities. No undesirable effects have been reported in children.
  • Guaifenesin: The safety of guaifenesin during pregnancy and lactation has not been established.
  • Phenilerin Hydrochloride: The safety of using phenylephrine hydrochloride during pregnancy and lactation has not been established. Phenylephrine may be excreted in breast milk. The product should not be used during pregnancy and lactation.

Special warnings
