Lactulose
It is a substantially non-absorbable synthetic disaccharide, consisting of galactose and fructose. Lactulose, not being hydrolyzed in the small intestine due to the lack of a specific enzyme, reaches the colon unchanged where it is degraded by saccharolytic bacteria (Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus bifidus). The products of lactulose metabolism act by attracting water by osmosis into the intestinal lumen in order to prevent excessive hardening of the stool. Finally, organic acids, especially lactic acid, originate from the splitting of lactulose, which reduce intestinal pH. The lowering of the luminal pH stimulates peristalsis and promotes the expulsion of faeces.

Lactulose	3 g
Other ingredients: maltodextrin; bioecolians (prebiotic); sugar (sucrose).

How to use
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor: 10 ml of syrup per day measured, using the dispenser included in the package.
10 ml corresponds to 2 teaspoons.
