PHARMACOTHERAPEUTIC CATEGORY

ACTIVE PRINCIPLES
Each tablet contains: febantel 150 mg, pyrantel 50 mg (equivalent to 144 mg of pyrantel embonate), praziquantel 50 mg.

INDICATIONS
Treatment of mixed infestations with nematodes and tapeworms of the following species. NEMATODE. Ascarids (adult and late immature forms): Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina. Hookworms (adults): Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum. Tricurids (adults): Trichuris vulpis. BASKETS (adults and immature forms): Echinococcus granulosus.

CONTRAINDICATIONS / SECONDARY EFFECT
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or to any of the excipients. Do not use during the first and second third of pregnancy. Do not use in dogs weighing less than 2 kg.

USE / ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION
Oral.

DOSAGE
1 tablet for every 10 kg of body weight (equal to 15 mg of febantel, 14.4 mg of pyrantel embonate and 5 mg of praziquantel / kg bw). Body weight 2-5Kg: 1/2 tablet. Body weight 5.1-10 Kg: 1 tablet. Body weight 10.1-15 Kg: 1 tablet + 1/2 tablet. Body weight 15.1-20 Kg: 2 tablets. For a further 5 Kgp.c., administer an additional half tablet. The flavored tablets and studies have shown that they are palatable and are taken spontaneously by the majority (about 9 out of 10) of the dogs tested. The tablets must be given in a single administration. The tablets can be administered with or without food. It is not necessary to restrict access to an abnormal diet before or after treatment.

STORAGE
This medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions. After opening the blister, the remaining halved tablets should be wrapped in aluminum foil and returned to the opened blister. Shelf life of halved tablets: 7 days.

WARNINGS
Fleas serve as intermediate hosts for a common type of tapeworm, the Dyplidium caninum. If control is not implemented, he intermediate hosts, such as fleas, mice, etc. it is certain that the cestode infestation will show up again. To minimize the risk of re-infestation or new infestation, droppings should be collected and disposed of appropriately for 24 hours after treatment. Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals: in case of accidental ingestion, seek medical advice immediately and show the package leaflet or the label to the physician. For the purpose of good hygiene, wash your hands after handling the tablets. Other precautions: as it contains praziquantel, the product is effective against Echinococcus spp. which are not present in all EU member states, but which are becoming more common in some. Echinococcosis represents a danger to humans and is a disease to be reported to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE). When echinococcosis is suspected, specific guidelines on the treatment, follow-up and protection of individuals must be obtained from the relevant competent authority. Overdose: doses of the product 10 times those recommended were tolerated by dogs and puppies with no signs of adverse reactions.

INTERACTIONS
The anthelmintic effects of this product and piperazine-containing products can be antagonized when the two drugs are used together.

SIDE EFFECTS
In very rare cases (less than 1 animal in 10,000 animals, including isolated reports), mild and transient disturbances of the digestive tract (eg vomiting) may arise.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING
Teratogenic effects attributed to high doses of febantel administered during early pregnancy have been reported in rats, sheep and dogs. The safety of the product has not been studied during the first and second third of pregnancy. Do not use in pregnant bitches during this period. A single treatment during the last third of pregnancy or while breastfeeding has been shown to be safe.
