Property
Lactobacillus reuteri is able to produce a bacteriocin that counteracts the development of pathogenic bacterial strains and makes them more easily eliminated.
Bifidobacteria (Bifidum bifidum and Bifidum longum) help prevent colonization of the intestine by pathogenic bacteria by producing lactic acid, acetic acid and short-chain fatty acids that lower the pH of the intestine.
The FOS (fructooligosaccharides) of inulin are carbohydrates that belong to the class of fructans, they are short-chain oligosaccharides made up of D-fructose and D-glucose and are obtained from the roots of chicory and artichoke.
Acacia fiber has a prebiotic action like inulin but specifically aimed at bifidobacteria; moreover it is able, by absorbing water, to increase the fecal mass inside the intestinal lumen thus favoring its elimination.
Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) has a valid antispasmodic action on the smooth muscles of the intestine.
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare), more particularly the essential oil contained in it, causes relaxation of the smooth muscles of the intestine.
Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a plant rich in starches.
Boswellia (Boswellia serrata) is a plant rich in oleoresins, which are mixtures of resins and essential oils.
