Turmeric ( Curcuma Longa ) is a plant with recognized antioxidant properties, belonging to the Zinziberacee family, traditionally used both as a spice and as a medicinal herb in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, in particular as an anti-inflammatory agent.

It has been shown that over 230 active compounds are present in turmeric, one of the most important of which is curcumin, a substance effective not only in countering inflammatory states but, among other things, also in supporting neuronal well-being and in controlling levels of blood sugar, in promoting digestive, hepatic and joint functions, and as an adjuvant against menstrual disorders.

Curcumin, while boasting countless beneficial properties, is nevertheless difficult to absorb by the body and for this reason it is considered a substance with poor bioavailability.
