Gynecological cream based on miconazole nitrate.

Therapeutic indications

Miconal Gynecological Cream 2% is used in the treatment of vaginal or vulvo-vaginal fungal infections in particular from Candida.

Dosage and posology

Miconal Gynecological Cream 2% should be taken in the following doses and methods: 2 times a day.

How to use

• Open the tube of cream by piercing the aluminum closure with the cap of the cap.
• Screw the disposable applicator onto the tube. Press the tube, at the end, to fill the applicator with cream. In case of piston resistance, move it slightly.
• Remove the applicator and close the tube.
• In the supine position, knees raised and spread, gently introduce the applicator into the vagina.
• Push the piston all the way to the bottom, to complete the extrusion of the cream.
• Withdraw the applicator without touching the piston.
• The applicator is for single use only. Use a new cannula for each application.

Overdose

No cases of overdose have been reported.

Contraindications

• Individual hypersensitivity to the product or to other closely related compounds from a chemical point of view

Side effects

Various complaints have been reported in the first weeks of miconazole therapy: vaginal burning and irritation, pelvic cramps, more rarely skin rashes and headache. In these cases it is necessary to interrupt the treatment and institute an appropriate therapy.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

In pregnant women, the product should be used only in case of real need and under direct medical supervision.

Special warnings

Prolonged use of the drug can give rise to sensitization phenomena. In this case, treatment must be stopped and appropriate therapy instituted.

Excipients

Palmite stearate ethylene glycol, polyoxyethylene glycerides, liquid paraffin, hydroxyethylmethylpyrandione sodium salt, butyl-hydroxyanisole, butyl-hydroxytoluene, ascorbyl palmitate, purified water.
