RAPHA MYR is a supplement based on broccoli extract with high titration in Sulforaphane (Brassica Oleracea eg titrated 11% in Sulforaphane glucosinolate).

Through a procedure covered by a patent, the product also has Mirosinase, the enzyme responsible for the hydrolysis, activation and therefore release of the isothiocyanate. Mirosinase is of natural origin and is obtained from the same plant as the extract. Sulforaphane as an active molecule does not exist in nature but is present in its glucosinolate form (glucoraphanine), a precursor of isothiocyanate . In fresh broccoli, glucoraphanin and the enzyme Mirosinase are present in the plant cell on two different compartments, through trituration or chewing they come into contact and Sulforaphane is activated. This in raw broccoli. While the Sulforaphane glucosinolate is stable to heat, the Myrosinase is thermolabile, therefore with the cooking we lose a good part of the possibility of activation of the Sulforaphane . This inconvenience is compensated by some bacteria in our intestine that produce the enzyme Myrosinase, however the individual difference in the intestinal bacterial flora leads to a difference in the activation of Sulforaphane estimated from 5 to 25%. Instead in RAPHA MYR we bring the enzyme already in the capsule reducing this difference and guaranteeing the activation of Sulforaphane .
