Intestinal gas mainly derives from the fermentation in the colon of different foods introduced with the diet. Among these, an important role is attributed to those containing lactose and to those of vegetable origin .
Lactose is the sugar present in milk , in its derivatives (cheeses, yoghurt and ice cream) and in "hidden form" in many foods (preparations for cakes and biscuits, mashed potatoes, soups, salad dressings, etc.). Some people, over time and for various reasons, may experience a reduction or loss of the ability to digest lactose, which then reaches the colon and is fermented by the bacterial flora, with the production of gas.
Cereals, legumes and vegetables contain non-digestible carbohydrates that are not attacked by digestive enzymes, resulting in the production of gas. Often in the same individual the symptoms of lactose intolerance are further aggravated by the fermentation of the vegetable carbohydrates indicated. All this can lead to a significant reduction in the consumption of milk and derived products as well as cereals, legumes and vegetables, resulting in a lack of calcium and fiber.
Sinaire Combi is indicated to counteract the formation of intestinal gas following the bacterial fermentation of lactose or non-digestible carbohydrates.
