INDICATIONS
Reintegration of fluids and sodium chloride.
CONTRAINDICATIONS / SECONDARY EFFECT
Contraindicated in patients with hypernatremia and in hydrosaline plethora. In pregnancy, administer only in case of real need.
DOSAGE
Intravenously. The dose is dependent on age, weight, clinical conditions, electrolyte picture and osmolarity, and is related to the calculated sodium deficit.
INTERACTIONS
The user doctor is referred to the scientific literature.
SIDE EFFECTS
Febrile responses, injection site infections, venous thrombosis or phlebitis. In the event of an adverse reaction, discontinue administration and keep the non-administered portion for possible testing. Use immediately after opening the container. The solution should be clear, colorless and free from visible particles. It is used for a single and uninterrupted administration and any residue cannot be used. Use with great caution in patients with congestive heart failure, severe renal insufficiency and in clinical states in which there is a saline retentionedema; in patients being treated with corticosteroid or corticotropin drugs. Continuous administration without the addition of potassium may cause hypokalaemia. In children, safety and efficacy have not been established. Monitor fluid balance and electrolytes.
